NEW YEAR'S ATMOSPHERE: A SELECTION OF FESTIVE FLAVORS (PART 2)

NEW YEAR'S ATMOSPHERE: A SELECTION OF FESTIVE FLAVORS (PART 2)

We continue the theme dedicated to the New Year atmosphere and fairy tale.

There is such a concept in psychology as the "Proust phenomenon" - this is the effect of acquiring vivid emotional memories through smells that evoke three-dimensional pictures from the past in our imagination. Marcel Proust in his novel described the emotions of the main character when he came to his aunt, drank lime tea with cookies. As soon as he felt the taste and aroma of cookies soaked in tea, it was as if he was transported to the past, and he found himself on the streets where he spent his childhood. Psychologists have studied this phenomenon, conducted experiments and made very useful conclusions that by influencing certain smells on the subconscious, you can evoke the necessary positive memories and use them to improve a person's well-being.

How can this be applied in life? You can use some iconic fragrances: for example, mom's favorite perfume in childhood; the perfume used by the bride at the wedding; the aromas of sweet pastries that came from mom's kitchen. Or find your own perfume that reminds you of the holiday, and create a wonderful mood with it. And the New Year is one of the best reasons for good memories.

What flavors, other than those in the last article, are traditionally associated with the New Year and Christmas? Of course, this is the smell of champagne, spices, sweets, pastries and lighted candles.

Champagne!

Sparkling wines gained popularity in our country after the war with Napoleon. Champagne accompanied all balls and social events. Sparkling wine became a traditional New Year's drink in the 60s of the 20th century. There was even an order to celebrate the New Year with champagne. Glasses of sparkling wine for the New Year were raised at famous New Year's concerts. This is how this tradition became popular.

Yvresse Yves Saint Laurent was originally even called "Champagne". But the name had to be changed at the request of the French champagne committee, which did not like the use of the name of the drink. The fragrance created by the talented Sofia Groisman intoxicates with a sparkling bright sunny drink with a taste of overripe peaches, nectarines and apricots. The fragrance of self-love, the enjoyment of the moment, the fragrance is a holiday that enchants everyone around!

Sweet gifts

And another tradition is to give sweet gifts for the New Year. It appeared thanks to merchants who attracted attention in the windows of their confectionery stores, exposing the figure of Santa Claus in them. So it subsequently happened that Santa Claus brings sweets to children. In addition, sweets were a rare treat and were given out for any merit and on holidays.

What a New Year's fragrance without the smell of sweets and chocolate!

Here it is impossible not to recall the famous Angel Mugler as the very first gourmet perfume, which opened a whole direction, a family of fragrances that have not gone out of fashion for a decade. Angel, according to Thierry Mugler himself, "is a fragrance that a little boy would give to his mother." The bright notes of chocolate and caramel in it are balanced by a deep note of patchouli. Therefore, it is not just sweet, but mysteriously pulsating, connected with the cosmos and a lucky star.

If you like fruit candies that slowly melt in your mouth and fill with a juicy taste, then the 2020 Angel Nova flanker is the best choice. A stellar trio of perfumers worked on the fragrance. Juicy lychees and raspberries, the tenderness of roses, light woody bitterness and a ringing metallic note. An unearthly beauty fragrance with a luxurious train.
