MONTALE: THE BIRTH OF A LEGEND
There are perfume brands that have long become a legend. But decades have been spent to earn public recognition. There are young brands that have started their journey relatively recently. Their history is being written today, but they are already legendary! Such brands include Montale, an amazing French brand that is already able to give a head start to competitors.
The founder of the brand Pierre Montale first tried himself as a perfumer in his native Paris. Montale always wanted more, but was afraid of experiments, not understanding how to realize what the soul requires. The perfumer has always been attracted to the East, and it was there that he decided to go for inspiration.
The journey has radically changed the life of a talented master. Studying Indian, Egyptian, Moroccan, Tibetan culture, Montale bit by bit collected a unique flavor and filled his "box" of perfumery knowledge. But the true insight came to the young man in the fertile expanses of Saudi Arabia. Montale drew inspiration from admiring the beautiful oriental landscapes, ancient temples and getting acquainted with the richest Arabian culture.
The master's talent was appreciated. The rumor about him reached the royal court. The Arab sheikh invited Montale to his house and made him a tempting offer. The master was required to create 40 unique fragrances, 10 for each of the four wives. Of course, the Frenchman got access to any ingredients, even the rarest and oldest. The order was successfully completed. Montal has earned excellent remuneration and excellent recommendations from representatives of the royal dynasty. But the most important acquisition is the invaluable experience with which the master decided to return to France and continue his work.
The main feature of Montale's perfumery is that he managed to combine delicate French classics and sensual oriental magic in the depths of one bottle. The hallmark of the master was a luxurious oud chord, which the guru of aromatic art elevated to the top of the perfume pedestal. So far, no brand has managed to surpass Montale either in quantity or in quality of compositions with a touch of oud.
Today, Montale's oud collection has more than 50 fragrances. The compositions became the most famous:
- Black Aoud, where a mysterious oud train completes a wonderful floral-musky melody with spicy tangerine notes;
- Nepal Aoud, in which a bold oud acts as the starting chord, anticipate a wonderful aromatic symphony composed of notes of Bulgarian rose, amber and nutmeg;
- Aoud Night, where a magical oud chord bursts out of the depths of a beautiful bottle like a powerful whirlwind and organically intertwines with deep, rich motifs of rose, amber, bergamot, leather and musk;
- Red Aoud, where a dynamic udovo-peppery start sets the rhythm of the whole composition, flowing in a stormy flow into the intertwining chords of charming rose, tart iris root, resinous vetiver and aristocratic sandalwood;
- Oud Dream, where a laconic olfactory pyramid is crowned with a multifaceted oud, the piquant motifs of which flow smoothly into the pink heart of the fragrance, and then into an exotic patchouli trail.
